You have the right to remain silent! Tony winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson is jumping from AMC’s canceled cop drama Low Winter Sun into a new TBS pilot about cops in the 1960s entitled Public Morals, according to Deadline.com. Santiago-Hudson will co-star opposite The Wire’s Ed Burns in the new Steven Spielberg-produced drama.
Set in 1967, the show follows Terry Muldoon (Burns) in the crooked New York City Public Morals Division, as he tries to remain a virtuous and respectable man, whilst teaching his family to do the same. Santiago-Hudson plays Lt. King on the drama, a hardcore but lovable lady-killer who is admired by the whole department.
Currently starring in August Wilson’s How I Learned What I Learned off-Broadway, Santiago-Hudson won a Tony for his performance in Seven Guitars. His other Broadway credits include Stick Fly, Gem of the Ocean and Jelly’s Last Jam.
